Why it keeps coming back

Most repeat infestations are an entry point nobody closed

Spraying what you can see kills what you can see. If the gap that let them in is still open, the same pests come back on the same route in a few weeks, and it feels like the treatment failed when what actually happened is that nothing was sealed.

Older Main Line housing makes this worse in a specific way. Fieldstone and rubble foundations, stucco over wood framing, and additions built onto original structures leave gaps that never appear on a plan, and mice need about a quarter of an inch.

  • A technician who inspects before treating, so the entry route is found rather than guessed
  • Treatment matched to the actual species, because a carpenter ant and a pavement ant do not respond to the same thing
  • A written record of what was found and what was done, so the next visit builds on the last one

What are you actually seeing?

Most people do not arrive knowing the species. Pick the line that matches what you noticed and the page tells you what it usually turns out to be.

You can hear it, or you are finding droppings

Usually in the walls, the basement or the roof space

Something is damaging the building

Timber, mortar, siding or the structure itself

It is biting or stinging

On people, on pets, indoors or in the yard

How it works

Inspect, treat, then check it worked

Step 1

Call the nearest office

You reach the office closest to your property rather than a central call centre, so the person you speak to knows the area. Tell us what you are seeing and where.

Step 2

A technician inspects

We identify the species and find how it is getting in. That second part is what decides whether the treatment holds, and it is the step that gets skipped most often.

Step 3

Treatment and a follow-up

We treat for the species we actually found, then tell you what to expect and when. If the problem needs another visit, that is planned rather than sold to you again.

What it costs

You get the price before the work starts, not after

The inspection is free and carries no obligation. You are told the species, the entry point, what the treatment involves and what it costs, and you decide from there.

Pest control pricing depends on the species, the size of the property and how far the problem has spread, so a number quoted before anyone has looked is a guess dressed up as a price. The inspection is how we get to a real figure.

The inspection
Free, no obligation
Your quote
In hand before any work begins
A planned follow-up
Included, not re-invoiced
  • The inspection tells you the species and the entry point, whether or not you book the treatment
  • One quote covering the treatment and any planned follow-up, so a return visit is not a second invoice
  • Commercial properties are quoted separately, because the reporting requirements are different

Find out what you are actually dealing with

The inspection tells you the species and how it is getting in. Call the office nearest you and we will book it.

Good to know

Questions we get asked

How soon can someone come out?

Call the office nearest you and we will tell you the next available window on that call. Every office is open seven days a week, most from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM, so evenings and weekends are normal appointments rather than an emergency surcharge.

Do I need to leave the house during treatment?

It depends on the treatment and the species, and the technician will tell you before starting rather than after. Many exterior and targeted interior treatments need no absence at all. Where a vacancy period does apply, you will be told how long and why.

Is the treatment safe around children and pets?

The technician will tell you exactly which products are being used, where they are being applied and what the re-entry guidance is for each one. If you have specific concerns, an infant, a pet, an aquarium or a medical condition, say so when you book so the approach can be planned around it.

What is the difference between termites and carpenter ants?

Both damage timber and both are common in southeastern Pennsylvania, but they do it differently and the treatments are not interchangeable. Termites eat wood, carpenter ants excavate it to nest. Getting the identification right is the whole job, which is why the inspection comes first.

Do you handle commercial properties?

Yes, and commercial work is quoted separately because the requirements are different: documented service records, scheduled routine visits and reporting that will stand up to an inspection. Tell us the property type and we will explain what the schedule would look like.

Which office will I be dealing with?

Whichever of our 15 offices is nearest to your property. Each one has its own direct number and its own opening hours, both listed on its page, so you are not routed through a central queue.
